Rammy G. Barbari

Experience & Background

I was born and raised in Northern Virginia and know the DMV community. I am a seasoned trial lawyer and represent individuals and businesses in high-stakes criminal, personal injury, and complex business matters across the DMV region in both state and federal courts.

With over a decade of courtroom experience, I've personally handled over ten thousand cases and tried hundreds of bench and jury trials in both state and federal courts. My practice is simple: every case is prepared as if it is going to trial. That level of preparation, combined with a sharp strategic mindset, consistently positions my clients for the best possible outcomes.

Before founding Barbari Law, I led a federal white-collar defense practice for a prominent DMV law firm, where I represented clients in complex investigations involving financial crimes, public corruption, and regulatory enforcement. I also served as a prosecutor in Fairfax County, Virginia, where I tried a wide range of cases, from violent offenses to sophisticated fraud and narcotics prosecutions. Early in my career, I served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Claude M. Hilton of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia where I developed a deep command of federal motion practice and trial procedure. Having stood on all sides of the courtroom, as a prosecutor, defense attorney, and judicial law clerk, gives me a critical advantage in understanding how cases are built, prosecuted, defended, and judged.

I'm known for my ability to quickly identify leverage points, break down complex legal and factual issues, and execute clear, effective strategies under pressure. Clients rely on me not only for my courtroom skills, but for my ability to guide them through high-stress, high-stakes situations with clarity, control, and compassion.

As a graduate of the Virginia Military Institute and the Indiana University Maurer School of Law, I combine disciplined precision, strategic thinking, and compassion in every case I handle. Functional in Arabic and Spanish, I draw from a global perspective shaped by my early work in international business development with a private security firm in the Middle East.

I would not be where I am today without my mentors and I strongly believe in paying it forward to the next generation. I actively mentor young attorneys, particularly in the Arab American community in helping them navigate the complexities of the legal profession. I also volunteer as a pro bono attorney for the VMI Honor Court.

Outside the courtroom, I enjoy date nights with my wife and doing everything under the sun with my two children, all whom are my greatest supporters and inspiration.
